Funerary stele with epigraphs. rome

Tombstone made of limestone without moldings with a funerary inscription distributed in five lines with interruptions. The letters are of the actuarial capital type and the marked lines that served the lapidarii to keep the writing straight can still be seen. Rome. 2nd-2nd century AD

The translation of the inscription shows us a usual epitaph dedicated to the memory and honor of the deceased in which the usual rules of including age, person to whom it is dedicated, character traits are followed: " To Publius Cordius from his son Sercius Clemens, who died at the age of 76, being a pious among his own: he is buried here. May the earth be light to you".
