Equipo Crónica was founded in 1965 in Valencia under the graphic and critical influence of popular print. Rafael Solbes, Manuel Valdés and Juan Antonio Toledo were in charge of promoting the pop movement through great works of Art History with a critical focus on the political situation in Spain at the time.
This work is a clear example of the recovery of cubist perspective in the year in which Picasso''s Guernica was to return to Spain. The dimensionality given by the collage of newspaper sheets adds a new layer of reality and "chronicle of the moment" giving meaning to the title of the work "Section of advertisements". 170x170cm
