It appears to be the fourth edition, produced by the National Chalcography around 1878, using the same paper and ink as the third, and with beveled plates (although it includes prints with unbeveled plates, possibly from the third edition, according to Tomas Harrys). , and limited to 65 copies. In this series, Goya performs a critical satire on the vices and absurdities of human conduct. Simplifying the series, they can be grouped around four major themes: the first deals with the deception of relationships between a man and a woman; the second is a satire on rudeness and ignorance, false beliefs and superstitions; the third condemns the vices of society, such as gluttony, laziness, lust or greed; and the fourth is a criticism of abuses of power.
