Nikos Hadjikyriakos Ghika. Night in Aedipsos II

"Night on Aedipsos III (1947)". Oil on cardboard. Signed and dated (47) in the lower right corner.



The work is part of a trilogy. A sketch of the work is kept in the Benaki Museum in Athens. Edipsos or Aedipsos is a city that the artist used to visit frequently, so it is thought that the work could have been executed in situ.
