Victor Jerez. Rafael Nadal

"Rafael Nadal". Oil on canvas. Signed in the lower left corner. Autographed by Rafa Nadal in the upper left corner.

Víctor Jerez

For years he worked in the Port of Algeciras as a stevedore, but it was not those hours of sunshine that illuminated his work; the light bulbs in the garage, at late hours, would see him practicing his passion: painting movie posters.

Shortly after, Jerez considered painting live. At first it was in small parties and local events (in Algeciras, Sotogrande…). Later came larger events and, without realizing it, he found himself painting George Clooney, Keith Richards or Carlos Jean.

Next came live painting at sporting events, a specialty that has become his great passion and with which he has achieved international recognition. He has had the privilege and responsibility of immortalizing, live and on court, figures such as Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic at the Mutua Madrid Open, a tournament in which he has worked for several years. He is now known as ''The Athletes'' Painter''.

Rafael Nadal ranks number 3 in the ranking. Born in Manacor (Mallorca) 35 years ago, the Spaniard added his 21st Grand Slam last January at the Australian Open, becoming the singles male player with the greatest trophies in a list of 91 titles.

rNadal is also the only man in history to complete the Grand Slam twice, also winning two Olympic gold medals, at the 2008 Beijing Olympics (individuals) and at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics (double).

He has won at least one ATP title in 19 consecutive seasons (2004-2022) and holds the record for most consecutive weeks in the top-10 ranking (858, as of March 24, 2022).

Nadal is the maximum historical winner of the Mutua Madrid Open with 5 titles: 2005, 2010, 2013, 2014, 2017.
