Greek krater. 4th century BC

Apulian columned krater attributed to the Athens Painter 1714 (370 - 360 BC). Decorated band on the neck and groups of figures on both sides. On one of the sides three young characters dressed in tunics. On the opposite side, a gynoecean scene with three women; one dressed in peplos and the other two half-naked in a boudoir scene. The Louvre Museum preserves two pieces attributed to the Athens Painter 1714 in the Campana collection: a gamic lesbes and a large amphora. The museum of Taranto (Sicily) also preserves a pélike attributed to this painter. Ref. Trendall hadbook p. 79 - 81. Good state of preservation.
