"Lacloche Freres bag". Extraordinary yellow gold bag signed LACLOCHE FRERES, numbered 10247 1538. Clasp in the shape of an exquisitely drawn swallow with wings, tail and breast set with diamonds and ruby eyes. Three hallmarks "Lacloche Freres" and "Deposé Breveté" and gold hallmarks. Weight: 152 grams.
Origin: important Spanish noble family.
In 1892 the brothers Jules and Léopold Lacloche settled in Paris and later the brothers Jacques and Fernand settled in Madrid selling pieces created in Paris. The Spanish aristocracy quickly became a faithful follower of his pieces. Their clientele included Queen Alexandra, George I of Greece, Napoleon III and Empress Eugénie, Alfonso XII and many others.
The Lacloche brothers opened offices in Biarritz, on rue de l''Opera and later on Place Vendôme in Paris, Aix-les Bains, Nice, Ostend and other recreational places of the European nobility.
Léopold and Jules were faithful followers of the Art Nouveau aesthetic and it was the first style they embraced creating very beautiful accessories such as: cigarette cases, bags, etc.
