Large greek hollow terracotta statue

"Terracotta Greek statue of a seated goddess, ca. SV BC". The female figure is portrayed frontally, with a round face, large almond-shaped eyes, a curved mouth, and an archaic smile. Her hair falls in braids down the sides with coiled earrings. The woman is wrapped in a chiton that crosses her body diagonally. His feet stick out below and rest on the integral base, his hands rest on his knees, holding a musical instrument called a sistrum. In her right hand she wears multiple bracelets on her wrists; the seat has a rectangular opening on each side and the back is raw and has a ventilation hole in the head.

Very good condition.

Provenance: Acquired from Cahn Auktionen AG, Kunstwerke der Antike, Auktion 1, June 15, 1998, number 75.
