A Spanish Colonial silver jar. Late 18th Century

Colonial silver jug. End of the 18th century. Smooth body with mixtilinear handle. Initials MBP of A. engraved on the front. This piece was acquired in the 70''s by the current owner in an antiques dealer in Lima. The initials MBP coincide with those of Micaela Bastidas Puyucahua, a precursor of independence, married in 1760 to the Cuzco chief Tupac Amaru II, a descendant of the last Inca Tupac Amaru I. Weight: 522 g. 15cm tall
