Joaquin Agrasot. Venice Canal (1904)

"Venice Canal (1904)". Oil on canvas. Signed in the lower left corner. On the back: titled, dated and signed.

Exhibitions: Museum of Fine Arts of Castellón for the monographic exhibition "Joaquín Agrasot. An international painter (2021)". Works from the Museo Nacional del Prado, Museu Nacional d''Art de Catalunya (MNAC), Museo Carmen Thyssen de Málaga, Museo Nacional de Cerámica y Artes Sumptuarias González Martí, Museums of Fine Arts of Málaga, Murcia, Córdoba, Bilbao and important private collections.

This large-format work presents a new facet of the artist, the urban landscape, hitherto unknown. There is evidence that after last summer with Fortuny in Portici (Naples) Agrasot travels with his wife to Venice, a fact reflected in different news items in the Italian press. In the 1902 edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica, Joaquín Agrasot only stands out in the 1970s within the panorama of Spanish painting. 150x100cm
