"LA PERIÓDICO-MANÍA".- M.: Imp. de Collado, imp. of the widow of Aznar, constitutional printer, 1820-1821. 8th, Spanish pasta, irons and tile on the spine. 3 vols. containing the complete publication of no. 1 to 42 as follows: volume I, nos. 1 to 16; volume II, nos. 17 to 34; volume III, nos. 21 to 42. According to Pedro Gómez Aparicio, it is "one of the most original, scathing and daring" periodicals published after the swearing in of the Constitution of 1812 by Fernando VII, in March 1820, in whose pages appear the portraits and epitaphs (generally in verse) of some 86 publications, including newspapers, brochures and other pamphlets, during the journalistic fever unleashed at the beginning of the Liberal Triennium. Its texts are written in a satirical and sarcastic style, and its direction has been attributed to the French-born journalist and lawyer known as Francisco Camborda, whose real name was Fernando Leandro Camborda y Núñez (1769-1823). In numbers of about twenty pages, which increased until reaching forty, it must have appeared weekly, without indication of a date in its masthead, until the beginning of 1821. In the end it became a political and anti-clerical publication. Analyzed by Enrique Rubio Cremades, it is basic to get an idea of the journalistic explosion of this second liberal period of contemporary Spain. Very rare in trade.
