Lorenzo Goni. Notes on Unamuno

"Notes on Unamuno". "Notes on Unamuno". Three ink drawings made for the magazines Don José (1) and Juventud (2). In two of them he portrays Miguel de Unamuno (in one with the body of an owl) and a handwritten annotation "Notes on Unamuno". The third a literary allegory. 16x22.5; 16 x 21 and 14 x 19 cm. Seals, titles and handwritten annotations.

- Don José was born in 1955 by Enrique Laborde. Antonio Mingote was director of the publication until 1957 due to disagreements with the new owners. His collaborators were the most prestigious humorists, columnists and cartoonists of the moment, such as Mingote himself, Tono, Goñi, Abelenda, Ballesta, Racaj, Puig Rosado, Julio Cebrián, Martínez de León, Alfonso Paso, Jaime de Armiñán, Blanca Boggiero, José Luis Col, etc.

The change of owner in 1957, economic problems and confrontations with censorship caused the closure of the publication. José Luis Coll wrote the farewell editorial. 16x22.5;16x21; 14x19cm
