Mark Klett is known for his photographs of desert landscapes located in the American Southwest, following 19th century lighting conditions and photographers such as William Henry Jackson or Timothy O''Sullivan. These photos represent the changes in the landscape, in aesthetics, in representation and in perception. Klett has collaborated with a number of artists, including Byron Wolfe, with whom he has done photographic projects in the Grand Canyon, Yosemite, and other historic landscapes. He has also worked in Portugal, where he photographed vineyards and vistas in the Douro River region, and in Japan, where he photographed the remnants of the Kobe earthquake.

His work is exhibited in important museums such as the MOMA in New York, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art or the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. In addition to numerous individual exhibitions. 50x40cm
