Lot: 767
Italian furniture. 17th century

Bargueño Italian baroque made of wood pyrography. Uncovered sample, with a prismatic structure that is supported on a rectangular base with a molded structure. The decoration is concentrated on the front, and on the sides it is reduced to geometric recesses or drawers that have a vegetal decoration that is repeated rhythmically in all the drawers. In the central area you can see a relief that represents the siege of the city of Candia in 1648. The Candia War, also known as the Cretan War, was fought between the Republic of Venice and its allies, the Knights of Malta, the Papal States, French volunteers and the Mani pirates against the Ottoman Empire and the Barbary States. The war took place in Crete and in the Mediterranean Sea and ended with an Ottoman victory.
