Lower part of Victoria torso

Fragment of a basalt sculpture representing a Victoria, the Greek Nike, daughter of Zeus and Themis. It is the lower part of the torso, with the belly clearly visible under the wet cloth, and the upper part of the thighs, one of which is advanced, which indicates that the figure appears to be in an advancing position. The movement of the drapery, billowing and raised backwards on the left side, at the level of the thighs, is typical of the representations of the Victory, whose garments tend to rise with the wind. Middle East. Roman period. S. II AD
