Characteristic work of 19th century French academicism. The work is based on another work by the painter: The Temptations of Saint Anthony, which he presented at the Salon des Artistes Françaises in 1879.

Quinsac was known as the painter of Bordeaux beauties. He specialized in the female figure, the protagonist of mythological and allegorical scenes, although he also cultivated portraiture, contemporary scenes and landscapes.

He regularly exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Françaises in Paris, an institution of which he was a member since 1887. 100 x 72.5cm
