Peace of Bourbon. Hand fan

Interesting alfonsino fan. 2nd 1/2 S XIX Linkage and ivory standards. Country of cloth painted and signed by Paz de Borbón, daughter of Isabel II, Infanta of Spain and princess consort of Bavaria (obverse) and by her sister Eulalia de Borbón (reverse). On one side, a landscape with a lake, a small town is represented on its margins and a farmer in a cart pulled by a donkey. On the back bouquet of flowers. Mother-of-pearl nail and metal ring. With tassel of silk thread. 32.5cm. long

Paz de Borbón was a watercolor painter who exhibited her work in various exhibitions, her two best-known paintings being My only model and the Port of Comillas.

This fan was a gift from Paz de Borbón to Dolores Pizarro, Marquise of the Court.
