"Planiglobii Terrestris cum utroq Hemisphaerio Caelesti". Copper engraving. World map representing the two hemispheres. Notes of the explorations of Magellan, Tasman and Dampier; notes of the different climatic zones in the borders; direction of the winds at the equator; two celestial grafts representing the sky from the two hemispheres. Two small diagrams with the projections of the movements of the sun and the moon in the seasons. The margins of the hemispheres are decorated with representations of natural phenomena and putti blowing in all directions. California is still represented as a peninsula. The map appeared for the 1st time in the "Neuer Atlas" in 1707. Norimberg, circa 1720. Entire engraving, but no margins. watercoloured. Mounted on cardboard. Footprint: 48.5 x 55 cm.
