"self portrait". "Self Portrait". Oil on canvas glued to board. 47 x 30. Signed in the lower left corner and dated 1966.



Documentation from the 1960s is attached where this work is mentioned, including a letter dated December 28, 1966 where the author claims to have finished his self portrait. He writes in English "I have painting with emotion to god of Golgotha". In another letter dated June 3, 1966, he states that he has painted this work at the request of an American collector. In a letter dated June 11, 1967, he says "I am very glad that you liked my self-portrait very much. I have carefully painted my inner face of my religious convictions, the Quid Divinum, in Latin it means divine blow, divine arrow, sting of the inspiration that comes from the HIGH. I continue painting with enthusiasm despite my 84 years." A copy of this documentation is attached. 47x30
