17th-18th C. Aubusson Tapestry mythological scene

Large "Verdure" tapestry made in wool probably by the Aubusson workshops from the Louis XIV - Louis XV period.

In the countryside, presiding over the scene, a mythological passage where a woman appears defended by Cupid while a god approaches in a drawn cart by horses. All this in a wooded location close to some gardens with fountains that could be Versailles. In the background of the scene a building can be seen.

The border, with profuse floral and plant decoration that comes from vases, with interspersed pearl garlands. France, ff. S. XVII - Pp. S. XVIII.
