Hori ushabti. Egypt. New Kingdom

Ushebti for Hori made in green faience. Egypt. New Kingdom. 19th Dynasty, 1279-1213 BC Reign of Ramesses II. Represented as a worker as he wields two hoes to work the fields of Osiris in the Hereafter. He is wearing a short wig with a braid sticking out on the right side. It sports a curly Osiriac boat, ending in a tight forward curve. From his mummiform shroud that covers his entire body, only his hands stand out, crossed on his chest, holding the aforementioned agricultural tools. On the body there is a vertical record of hieroglyphic writing that translates "May the Osiris Hori, fair of voice, be illuminated." Hori was the High Priest of Ptah at the end of the reign of Ramesses II. Hori replaced Neferrenpet in office. He was a son of Prince Khaemwaset and thus a grandson of Ramesses II.
