Ushebti mummiform of white faience represented as a worker as he wields two hoes to work the fields of Osiris in the Hereafter. Egypt. New Empire. 19th Dynasty. 1279-1213 BC Reign of Ramses II. On his back hangs a bag of seeds. He is wearing a short wig with a braid sticking out on the right side. The hands, crossed on the chest, emerge from the mummiform shroud that covers the entire body. On the body there is a vertical register of hieroglyphic writing that translates as follows: "May the Osiris (priest) Sem de Ptah, Neferrenpet, fair of voice, be enlightened."
Neferrenpet was a chaty, the highest funerary rank of Ramesses II. He held this position in the administration and government of Upper Egypt since the year 57 of Ramses. He was also High Priest of Ptah, an appointment that depended on the pharaoh, and whose function was to replace him in the sacred rites and direct the clergy of Memphis.
Earthy adhesions on the surface. Visible restoration on the fracture line in the lower part. Good condition.
