"Indus Valley ceramic vessel decorated with zoomorphic figures, 2500 BC". There are ancient civilizations of which, although thousands of years have passed, we know a lot about their culture, society and customs, either from archaeological remains or from the monuments they have left us. This is not the case of the mysterious culture of the Indus Valley, a culture that developed in the vicinity of the Indus River, in what is now India and Pakistan. Currently it is believed that there could have been settlements from the year 6000 a. C., although its peak, as well as its main cities such as Mohenjo-Daro. Regarding their religious customs, pieces have come down to us to this day for offerings for requests for fertility and as votive offerings. This container, which preserves a marvelous polychromy, is decorated with plant forms and various zoomorphic figures. These types of vessels would be used in a ritual way, since their polychromy indicates that they would not be used daily. They would surely belong to the grave goods.
Very good state of conservation.
