Roman taslucid glass jar

"Roman Translucent Glass Vessel, 300 AD". Roman glass with a globular body, open mouth and handles. Made with the two-color blown glass technique, decorated in its central part by a zig-zag band. The blown glass technique began in Syria around the 1st century BC from where it spread and became popular throughout the empire.

Very good state of conservation.

Provenance: Purchased at auction from the Archaeological Center, Israel in 2006.
