Vicente Vela. Paint

Oil on canvas. Signed and dated (59) in the lower left corner.

On the back, signed, titled and dated (1985).

Vicente Vela García was a prominent Spanish painter and stage designer. In 1958, he presented his first individual exhibition at the Clan gallery in Madrid, marking the beginning of a prolific artistic career that spanned more than half a century.

Influenced in his beginnings by informalism, Vela evolved towards abstraction in the following decades , exploring the relationship between form and gesture in its plastic expression. In 1970 he designed the double symmetry of the English "ele" that featured in the Loewe logo until then, this has been Vela''''s most important legacy for the Madrid house.
