Antonio Jacinto de Gasso. Manuscript

(Manuscript) GASSÓ, Antº Jacinto de.- "FRAGMENT of a composition in free verse to the glory of Spain" Manuscript: "Indignant, the Lion raised his forehead,/ and as he shook his sleeping body/ the concave abysses trembled:/ the double claw raised powerful,/ a circle stroke,/ and when returning it to the dominion of the earth/ one hundred and one hundred towns it dragged defeated,..." Signed at last. Antonio Jacinto de Gasso was president of the Directorate of the Tamarite de Litera Canal, in the province of Huesca, built by Royal Decree granted in 1834. This irrigation canal would use water from the Ésera river and the Cinca river to irrigate 104,000 hectares. The initial proposal was for a canal that would end in Tamarite, but the project would end up extending it to irrigate land in Catalonia, and the name was changed to the current name of Canal de Aragón y Cataluña.
