Palmyrene stone sculpture of male face

"Palmyra stone sculpture, male face. S. I-II AD". The Empire of Palmyra was a state in the Near East, separated from the Roman Empire by the decision of its queen Zenobia, the only ruler it had. The artistic manifestations of this period are immensely beautiful, with Roman technique and mastery, the Palmyra style is even more detailed and full of expression and passion. This fragment of sculpture, the face, must have belonged to a high position since the quality of its carving is exceptional. Its eternal gaze has remained unfading for thousands of years.

Good state of preservation.
