Lot: 107
cananite clay jug

Canaanite ceramic vase from the Bronze Age, 1550-1200 BC Ceramics is not one of the outstanding aspects of the Bronze Age, but its development was key towards more developed typologies and more refined finishes. This type of ceramics used to be made on a lathe, with manual finishes. This piece has smooth rounded lines, a wide mouthpiece in relation to its globular body, and an absence at the base of the lower part, which shows that it used to remain suspended.

It comes from a private Israeli collection, 2006.
