The pictured She was the wife of Alexander Blumenstiel, a renowned New York lawyer. She was born in 1845 and died in 1905 three months before her husband. They were the parents of eight children.
In the portrait she appears seated in an armchair with her face turned towards the viewer. She is wearing a gala dress with ample Chantilly lace, a black velvet bow choker and gray pearl earrings. Bouquet of violets at the height of her left shoulder. A white satin glove on her right hand and a sable cap on the back of the chair.
A copy of the report by Dr. Carlos González López and Mrs. Montserrat Martí Ayxelá is attached, in which they place this work in its best period as a portraitist. 90 x 74cm
