Roman glass bottle

"Roman glass bottle, S. IV - V AD". Glass has always been a material shrouded in secrecy, light, graceful and fragile, easily fractured, almost like the representation of life itself, stable but perishable. A product with an undeniable appeal, intended for the wealthiest and most select families in Ancient Rome. Glass was a very expensive material due to its complicated composition and its long and difficult manufacturing process. Glass, which had been developing in antiquity, reached its peak and best development in Roman times, so much so that glass began to be used to close the windows of baths and temples and later even the windows of wealthy houses. This bottle, of precious manufacture and attention to detail, is one of the best examples that we can find from Roman times.
